Personal Umbrella

Kiley Insurance Agency offers a Personal Umbrella Liability Policy that is designed to provide an extra layer of personal liability coverage beyond the limits set by your other basic insurance policies. Personal Umbrella insurance can help to cover you in the event of a lawsuit that could cost you millions of dollars in defense costs, damages and other expenses. All of your valuable assets – cars, your home and other items – could all be lost as a result of a liability lawsuit.

Most people assume that they are fully covered for liability under their current homeowners or auto insurance policies, however most of these policies simply do not provide enough coverage to protect a person’s assets in a lawsuit situation. When accidents or other tragedies occur, such as loss of life or severe injuries, court awards in the million-dollar range are not uncommon. Fortunately, you can be protected from such a situation with a Personal Umbrella Liability Policy from Kiley Insurance.

Individuals or families who are eligible to receive coverage under a Personal Umbrella Liability Policy can have peace of mind when it comes to potential lawsuits or other liability situations. Policies are available at Kiley Insurance Agency in two options, including $1,000,000 or $2,000,000.

What Does a Personal Umbrella Liability Policy Cover?

This type of policy provides global coverage for any claims that are brought against you or your family members living within your household. The types of events and situations covered under the Personal Injury Policy part of the Personal Umbrella includes eviction, invasion of privacy, wrongful entry, defamation of character, slander, libel and false arrest. Payment for costs associated with defending yourself in court are also covered, even if the lawsuit is deemed groundless.

Coverage under this policy also includes occasional use of non-owned recreational vehicles. Some of the vehicles covered under this portion of the policy include ATVs, snowmobiles and golf carts, regardless of the location. A reimbursement of any expenses incurred that you deem reasonable can be obtained at our request.

Cost-Saving Measures

You can reduce your total premium for a Personal Umbrella Liability Policy by as much as 5% if you have an underlying Automobile Liability policy that is $500/500/100,000 or $500,000 CSL and you also have a Homeowners Liability policy that is a minimum of $500,000. Added savings are also applied to your other policies, including Homeowners, Automobile or Mariner Personal Boat Policies.
